Description:
It certainly had a strange ring to it, but the nickname it received in the vernacular was quite fitting in a figurative sense: This becomes apparent immediately with a quick glance at the angular radiator of the Citroën HY, which gave it a look that is actually reminiscent of a “pig’s nose” (“nez de cochon”). French automaker Citroën introduced the HY as a van in 1947 – and, thus, one year ahead of the release of their famous 2CV. In France, the Low Countries, but also in the Saarland region, the type HY was one of the most commonly used small transport vans hailing from France. Particularly striking: The sides of the body looked as if they had been planked with corrugated sheet metal. The vehicle was manufactured from 1947 until 1981 Body and radiator grille painted in pearl beige metallic, chassis and steering wheel in black. Interior brown. Wheel rim in light ivory. Front screens with frame imprinted black and orange indicators. Window borders on the sides likewise in black plus silver door handles. Tail lights imprinted red and indicators orange. Radiator grille with silver logo. UPC: 4006190262088
