The digital future certainly does not pass by the 1:87 scale! The agricultural machinery experts at WIKING furnish the Fendt 942 Vario with a new interior – and a FendtONE system that visibly enhances its work station. Merely a few millimetres tall, the details are still unmistakable and indicative of the efficient field work the on-board system ensures in real life. In the prototype, the collected data is controlled from the driver’s seat and made available for data processing in the subsequent off-board mode. A glance into the cab of the Fendt 942 Vario manufactured in WIKING’s model workshops reveals the intricate detail of the model cab’s interior, which in real life functions as a mobile office. WIKING reproduces this advancement incorporated into the heavy-duty tractor from Marktoberdorf and, naturally, releases the Fendt 942 Vario with the new fleet design - paying tribute to the now significantly more dynamic and modern corporate design. Endowed with a 400 hp engine, the real-life sibling of the 942 Vario première model is the flagship of the series. It is considered the top model of the new 900 Vario line. The new series with its five models ranging from 296 to 415 hp was redesigned from the ground up. While larger than its predecessor, the 900 is also more compact than its larger brother. Now tipping the scales at close to 11.8 tonnes, it gained nearly 900 kilogrammes in weight and now has a wheel base that has been expanded by 10 centimetres. These dimensions have clearly translated to the imposing 1:87 model, which now proudly boasts the same attention to detail enthusiasts have come to expect from WIKING’s agricultural models. The richness in detail that WIKING provides can also be found on the exterior of the driver’s cab – where carefully elaborated details such as front and rear windscreen wipers and even headlamps painted silver are obligatory essentials.
