Description:
Designated as a Mercedes-Benz with the star embellishing its front, the Unimog made its grand entrance on a large stage of the agricultural world at DLG in Cologne in 1953. The vehicle saw a change in its series designation: The numbers 401 and 402 indicated, respectively, a short and a long wheel base. In 1955, the Böhringer ox head was substituted as the sign of the vehicle’s original lineage. True to its prototype, the model is released with a closed driver's cab and also includes an open tarp. The fenders of the model and the flatbed have been crafted as separate pieces while the spare wheel is hiding behind the driver's cab. As the name suggests, the headlamps cheekily stick out straight from the rather bashful radiator grille – which is why the Westfalia cab of the first Unimog generation did not have to wait long to receive the term of endearment it still has today.

Driver's cab with flatbed and wheel rims wine red. Chassis with trailer coupling as well as cardan shaft and rear fenders black - along with the bumper and radiator grille. Flatbed insert wine red, open tarp at the rear silver grey. Front headlamp rings painted silver, Unimog lettering imprinted white. Radiator grille with silver frame and Mercedes-Benz star.
