Description:
As it turned out, WIKING had already picked a winner in the fifties when they decided to launch the legendary tri-axle trailer with swing axle based on the Vidal original. This trailer captivated entire generations of model enthusiasts as it had the ability to compensate for any unevenness in the ground - just like its real-world sibling. It managed to glide smoothly over small waves in the tablecloth during play! WIKING is now recreating this success by pairing the trailer classic with the Henschel cab-over – perfectly blending new moulds with old moulds to achieve contemporary authenticity. The original of the road train even made it onto the title of the Henschel brochure in the nineteen fifties. It goes without saying that the long distance cab of the 1:87 model flaunts the hint of a curtain, fitting in seamlessly with the rest of the filigree imprinted trim of the lorry from Kassel. The Henschel HS 165 T represents the era of cab-over-engine vehicles that started in the mid-fifties. With the “T” at the end of the model designation, the truck manufacturer from Kassel abbreviated, without further ado, the hood-less construction of the “Tramausführung” (tram design). In 1955, the HS 165 T followed hot on the heels of its predecessor built two years before. The two only differ in terms of the cooling water filler necks, with the WIKING original displaying the later version that rolled off the line until 1961.
