Description:
WIKING ventures into the new decade with the state-of-the-art turntable ladder made by Rosenbauer: The traditional model makers have miniaturised the 3.0 version, presenting the third generation with the tilt-down basket arm. Just as its real-life sibling, the 1:43 scale miniature of the L32A-XS 3.0 marries the inescapable advantages of an articulated turntable ladder with a considerably expanded operational range. The original managed to increase its horizontal outreach by up to 150 cm – a feat that is also conveyed magnificently in the functionality of the model. In real life, the fire brigades were able to use this new ability to come closer to the ladder point than ever before during a rescue or fire emergency call. Anyone who will set this 1:43 model and all its functional WIKING glory into motion will quickly realise that the flexibility of the tilt-down basket arm allows for set-up positions that had hitherto been impossible. Those who use the 1:43 model for a true-to-life mission simulation will be able to enjoy the benefits of the XS concept even in limited space conditions. Endowed with tried-and-tested Metz technology, the precision miniature of Rosenbauer’s articulated turntable ladder requires only a few centimetres of clearance to the ladder point. In real life, a distance of 5.15 m from the outer edge of the vehicle will suffice to set up the turntable ladder with continuous adjustability along the façade. The original XS manages to complete the 180° rotation with the basket arm bent in streets with a width as low as 9.50 m. And, 2.50 m of clearance between the bumper and the front of the basket are already sufficient for setting down the rescue basket directly in front of the driver's cab. Better still, this entire functionality can also be experienced in the 1:43 WIKING model.

WIKING is pairing the L32 turntable mounted on the Mercedes-Benz Econic with the new L32A-XS 3.0, which has also been shrunk down to a 1:43 scale miniature and sits on top of the latest Mercedes-Benz Atego chassis. True to the philosophy they have come to adopt at Rosenbauer, the designers strive to conceive products with a true milestone impact. This is why they designed a platform superstructure that is as compact as it is functional. Located immediately behind the crew cab is a spacious gear compartment. Dark blinds round out the vehicle just as much as the five-part ladder turret that is fitted with the tilt-down rescue basket at its end. All functions of the turntable ladder turret offer the same movability as the prototype. WIKING invested as much attention to that portion as they did to the work station for the turntable ladder operator. It is primarily the attractive colour combination of the 1:43 model that brings out the highly innovative character of the Rosenbauer turntable ladder. The model is a painted, die-cast zinc component combined with plastic elements and finished with detailed imprints.
