WIKING has long had the successful vehicles from the Esslingen machinery manufacturer in its range: The baggage truck and also the first forklift were created in the form of their prototypes and deployed on thousands of model railways. A heavy duty truck with trailer now makes its first appearance. This also used to deliver the other machines from the real-world manufacturer to their recipient. The Mercedes-Benz L 5000 has a heavy load flatbed with tarp, while the low-loader was able to master loads weighing many tons. Mining and industrial railways, plus forklifts – Maschinenfabrik Esslingen had a broad product range. In 1965 took Daimler-Benz over a majority of the shares in Maschinenfabrik Esslingen from the Gutehoffnungshütte company. The forklift truck business was later taken over by Still – as is known, WIKING has also remained true to these forklifts.
