WIKING is now expanding the duo from the nineties into an Edelhoff trio: The road sweeper and the compactor garbage truck with NG driver's cab is now joined by a Mercedes-Benz that hails from the cubic generation and comes with a skip. The family business from Iserlohn enjoyed strong growth in the seventies and was entrusted with waste disposal in many communities and industrial businesses. From the outset, Edelhoff had been committed to the Mercedes-Benz brand before the company was taken over by electricity supplier VEW in 1993. The Federal Cartel Office had approved the acquisition of the Edelhoff waste management company by Vereinigte Elektrizitätswerke Westfalen (VEW) after recognising a wave of market concentration in the waste disposal industry. The colours of Edelhoff eventually disappeared when VEW was later absorbed into the RWE corporation.
