This is the large turntable ladder classic of the 1960s whose prototypes from Ulm remained widely used until far into the 1980s. With its round alligator hood, this square hood continued the tradition of its characterful predecessor series. Power and dependability were the key features that set the Magirus square hood apart and made it a favourite among fire brigades from 1962 onward. This appreciation was chiefly due to the fact that the Ulm vehicle builders held on to the characteristics that defined this generation of round hoods. Chassis, engine and turntable ladder structure were adopted nearly unchanged, laying to rest any concerns the fire brigades may have had about picking the DL 25h of the square hood generation.
