Description:
Even Master Röhrich swore by the Hanomag courier van While already staggering at 61,472, the number of Hanomag Kurier vans that ran off the production line in 1967 is likely to have been dwarfed by the models produced at WIKING. The Hanomag Kurier included in the 1:87 product range was regarded as a light express lorry engineered by the commercial vehicle manufacturer Hanomag. The all-steel cab of the model stood for a contemporary body design, which remains highly sought after to this day thanks to its curved shapes. Bulged only to the slightest degree, the bow of the vehicle was so type-defining that the task of creating an authentic miniaturisation posed no difficulty to WIKING’s master model maker Alfred Kedzierski. Hanomag presented the smallest and most commonly driven Kurier as early as 1958. The lorry manufacturer from Hanover furnished it with the same 50 hp diesel engine that had powered its predecessor. Weighing in at a total weight of 3.9 tonnes, it was able to carry a payload of nearly 2 tonnes. In 1964, the line was complemented by a petrol engine with an output of 60 hp. The Hanomag finally became immortal - at the latest with the release of the legendary film “Werner - Beinhart!” in which the vehicle served as Master Röhrich’s “company car.” Box upper and lower part purple red. Roof of the box window grey. Chassis iron grey, interior with steering wheel mouse grey, grille surface and grille frame with Kurier lettering imprinted silver. Indicators in traffic orange. Hanomag logo and lettering imprinted in the brand’s gold colour. Tail lights traffic red. UPC: 4006190344012
