Description:
In 1977 it was the well-known Scania 111 LB which brought a new face to the WIKING range back. Not long ago the Henschel HS 14/16 recalled the great days of Hamburger Spedition, and now the MAN Pausbacke makes the popular semi-trucks into a contemporary trio! Founded in 1931, Hamburger Spedition is amongst the oldest companies in the Hanseatic city, and it maintained an illustrious vehicle pool of large truck brands. With 80 years experience of haulage and logistics, the Hanseatic company sees itself as an expert – regardless whether transporting groupage goods, containers, dangerous goods or refrigerated products. This is where the Pausbacke is ideal as an authentic semi-truck. Back in 1967, WIKING head Fritz Peltzer himself had announced the MAN Pausbacke under programme number “51g” with great bravado, yet quite fittingly as the “grandiose box semi-trailer – now with a MAN 10.230”. Almost sixty years later, the new semi-trailer is created from the former single axle vehicle, by converting it into a two axle vehicle which uses new moulds. The classic truck gives the overall modelling look even greater authenticity. The traditional model makers made the deliberate choice to painstakingly replicate every detail of the earlier WIKING model, and designed the new, second version with very fine engraving in the style of the single-axle trailer of identical construction. Naturally, the doors on the rear can be opened, and the roof is equipped with an all-around drip rail. Better yet, WIKING thought to include the position lights on the front of the box. The tail lights and the licence plate on the rear have been reproduced in wonderful detail. Upper part of driver’s cab ivory beige, lower part of driver's cab red. Interior fawn brown. Chassis and Trilex wheels red. Purple-red radiator grille with silver MAN emblem and hand-painted headlamps. Indicators yellow-orange. Trailer chassis and stabiliser leg red, also wheels and double fenders. Semi-trailer box and doors ivory beige. Box printed on sides, with red horizontal line and “Hamburger Spedition” lettering. Front of box with “Spedition” logo UPC: 4006190513296
